Dresden

Where to start with Dresden?!?! Here’s a few from the Semper Opera and the Zwinger Palace… I have so much to share here. It’s just a taste of what’s to come!

Dresden!

We arrived in a drizzle and made it onto the River Allegro. Yes, my cabin is as small as they said! I’m grateful not to be sharing it with a stranger!

Sorbian lunch in Bautzen

One of the best meals along the way! We were welcomed in a traditional way with bread and salt. The lunch was boiled beef with an amazing horseradish sauce… So yummy. Dessert was an elderberry sauce on kind of a panna cotta.

Bautzen’s Wenzel Markt

Just a few shots from the market! It was small but nice. Really cold that day though…

Bautzen

Bautzen is a small town near the border with Poland that has a long history and an even older market than Dresden. The DDR’s Stasi even had a prison here. There’s an ethnic minority of Sorbs that peacefully coexist with the Germans. This is where we stopped for lunch and a visit to their (what else!) Christmas market!
